New Material − 3rd Generation GMA/Hydrogel Copolymer − Hioxifilcon D
Advanced Moisture Retention With Outstanding Durability
Our new patented GMA/hydrogel copolymer hioxifilcon D has advanced hydration properties
that allow it to retain 97% of its moisture. All lens dimensions and oxygen permeability
present in the first hour of wear will be present in the last hour of wear. Lens
comfort, movement, and fit will be stable throughout the day.
- Ultra stable copolymer provides exceptional on-eye stability throughout the wearing
period.
- Lenses do not shrink, tighten, or change shape on the eye.
- Crisp, clear vision is provided throughout the entire wearing period.
- Non-ionic material resists deposits, keeping lenses clear & free of unhealthy
protein deposits.
GMA/Hydrogel Copolymer − Material Properties
Enhanced Biocompatibility
Glycerol Methacrylate (GMA) provides outstanding biocompatibility with Mucin, the
naturally-occurring glycoprotein contained in the tear fluid. This contributes to
surface wettability, comfort, and eye health.
Unsurpassed On-Eye Moisture Retention
GMA/hydrogel copolymer contains hydroxyl (OH) groups that allow water molecules
to bond tightly to the surface of the polymer, giving it outstanding water retention
properties. The Extreme H2O ® 54% loses less than 3% of its water content on
the eye after 12 hours of wear.

Outstanding Resistance To Deposits
Extreme H2O ® 54% is made with a Group 2 non-ionic material that resists unhealthy
protein deposits, compared to Group 4 ionic materials that are known to bind protein
deposits..
